As the Hispanic population in the United States grows to an estimated 132 million by 2050, more individuals are in need of linguistically diverse healthcare providers. An insufficient number of Spanish-speaking pharmacists and pharmacy technicians exist to meet the needs of the Spanish-speaking population.
This exciting new course, “Introductory Medical Spanish for Pharmacy Staff”, provides online training for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians – learning and applying the first steps in speaking Spanish to better communicate with a portion of the patients you care for each day. This offering provides a concise introduction to basic Spanish terms and phrases encountered in a variety of pharmacy settings. Along with receiving 2 hours of CE credit for successfully completing this 3-part course, you will also be sent several practice aids:
- Essential Spanish for Pharmacists pocket reference
- Three pocket cards with common Spanish terms used in a pharmacy setting
These tools have been developed to assist in retention of the material covered in the course.
This link will take you to our Purdue Distance Learning website in order for you to register for CE credit and the practice aids. There will be a charge of $35 for pharmacists and $15 for pharmacy technicians to obtain CE credit. No refund may be requested after credit has been awarded.
