‘Tis the season for pumpkins and turkey—but when quitting smoking, the best approach is not cold turkey! In preparation for the Great American Smokeout on November 17, the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development has launched a suite of web-based CE programs. Designed to equip healthcare providers with the necessary knowledge and skills to assist their patients with quitting smoking, these programs teach participants to apply evidence-based methods that combine behavioral counseling with pharmacotherapy. Additionally, a 6-hour train-the-trainer program is available for pharmacy, medicine, and nursing faculty, and a 2-hr train-the-trainer program is available for respiratory therapy faculty.
For all tobacco cessation training programs, continuing education units are provided at no cost to participants.
